Lumen Christi supports Child Safety with policies and procedures in place to promote well-being and to ensure that all children are protected from harm.
Lumen Christi is a Catholic primary school, which endeavours to work with families to educate children in a Christian atmosphere of love, trust and responsibility.
We are inspired by our name, Lumen Christi, to create a welcoming environment which values the dignity of the individual, nurtures within the Catholic tradition each individual's spiritual journey, fosters enjoyment of learning, nourishes self expression, embraces our whole community and focuses on justice and citizenship.
We view education as a partnership between school and home, and therefore strongly encourage parent participation.
Lumen Christi was officially opened in 1990 with a total enrolment of 73 students, today we have over 330 children, with modern air conditioned classrooms and interactive whiteboards, a purpose built junior learning centre, a fully equipped technology centre, a library, a dedicated art room and beautiful grounds.
Whilst this website contains a great deal of information, it in no way covers everything we do at Lumen Christi. We hope you enjoy reading about our school and would hope that if you have any questions that you would not hesitate to make contact with us.

Footy Day 2017
Footy Day 2017 was a hit!
We started the day with a wonderful prayer in a space covered in fantastic artwork from the Art Night.
We kicked off Football with our parade in the Junior Building, but we had a special surprise in store. Kaitlin Ashmore (Brisbane Lions) and Mo Hope (Collingwood) came along to judge the best dressed and share their football journeys with our middle and senior students.
The children and staff were very excited to have these two amazing women join us for our parade and celebrate how lucky we are to have sports like AFL available to us all. To begin playlunch each child received a donut that was coloured in the team they chose. A big thank you to all the parent helpers on the day!
During playlunch Kaitlin and Mo held the specky bags for the juniors, while the Sebastopol Senior Footballers ran handball drills and the senior students were testing their skills by aiming to kick a footy in the trailer.
Mo and Kaitlin spoke of their journey after playlunch and the students had many great questions to ask them about their football and life away from sport.
We then had a skill focus for all students who rotated through handball, bouncing, catching, kicking and taking a specky. Unfortunately weather turned during this time, however we were able to get into our group's earlier, for the Lumen Footy Quiz. The quiz was a close contest with four teams taking out the prize which was followed by a bakery lunch!
Well done to everyone on a fantastic day! Good luck to all our students in their finals and may the best AFL team of 2017 win!
