Special Features of the Curriculum include
- Weekly whole school prayer
- English and Mathematics teaching that is focused, explicit, needs based and monitored
- Yearly Arts special focus or event (Alternate years – Visual / Performing)
- Children with individual needs are identified and may be supported through programs, including:-
~ Reading Recovery
~ Early Reading Intervention Knowledge ERIK - The use of Learning Journals as part of the Informing and Reporting process
- Specialist weekly Visual Art, Performing Art, Japanese and Environmental Education
- The use of a Computer Laboratory which houses 28 computers
- ‘Buddy’ activities, linking senior and junior students
- Staff Team Planning
- Camps & Outdoor Education – This follows a sequential program –
~ Foundation (Prep), Year 1 and Year 2 students will have a Big Day Out (“camp experience”)
~ Year 2 will have a sleepover at school (no charge)
~ Year 4 will go on an overnight camp
~ Year 6 will go on a two night / three day camp - Children across the school have access to technology in classrooms to support their learning with 1-1 iPads for Yr 5 & Yr 6
