Philosophy

Lumen Christi supports Child Safety with policies and procedures in place to promote well-being and to ensure that all children are protected from harm.

At Lumen Christi, students are  immersed in a Christian ethos and educated in the Catholic faith tradition. Upon enrolling their children at Lumen Christi, parents choose to support their children’s education in a Catholic faith environment. An aim of the school is to deepen students’ knowledge of the Catholic faith and to provide opportunities for expression of faith through worship and celebration. Jesus calls himself the light of the world (John 8, 15 & 9, 5) and reminds us that we should be salt of the earth and light of the world.

Students are provided with a safe, supportive environment where they experience success as learners and are challenged to achieve personal excellence. Families of Lumen Christi students are embraced as members of the school community.

Pastoral Care in the Lumen Christi school community is seen to be the genuine care in thought and action shown by and towards each other. Pastoral Care has as its focus the life of Jesus Christ. It is concerned with the dignity and integral growth of the person. A force for healing, reconciliation and liberation, an expression of and a commitment to justice, Pastoral Care is a responsibility entrusted to all members of the community.

At Lumen Christi, our Vision and Mission statements, our Pastoral Care Policy and Teaching and Learning Policies commit us to embrace difference and provide equity of access to education for all – to support all students to grow and develop.
